For Burlington County Commissioner
Jonathan Chebra is running for Burlington County Commissioner to fight for county residents — to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely, that county government operates with integrity and transparency, and that Burlington County remains a great place to raise a family and grow older.
Jon's career has been about pursuing policies that make our community healthier and more affordable. As Dr. Herb Conaway's Chief of Staff in the Assembly, he helped pass landmark healthcare-affordability legislation and stood up for reproductive rights. For six years he served as Deputy Commissioner for New Jersey Human Services, where he worked to reduce overdoses by making naloxone widely available, fought food insecurity by increasing SNAP benefits, and battled cuts to Medicaid.
For the past seven years, Jon has chaired the Burlington County Library Commission. In that volunteer role he eliminated a budget deficit while expanding services and programming, stood up against attempts to ban books, and eliminated late fines to make the county library more accessible to all.
Jon lives in Bordentown City with his wife, Hilary, their two young children, and their dog, Ace.
